The Yolo County ACE (Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Elections) Department will be transitioning to a .gov hosted website next week. Beginning on Tuesday, May 28th, the ACE Department website will be: https://ace.yolocounty.gov. Each specific branch of ACE (Assessor, Clerk-Recorder and Elections) website will be accessible via the main site.
Local government infrastructure, especially elections, have experienced increased cyber threats in recent years. Due to the continued anticipated concerns, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) are recommending all elections offices adopt .gov domains.
“Unlike other domains, .gov is only available to official government entities which means that the public can be assured that the content is verified information. This will enhance the security of our website and help the public avoid phishing attempts or misinformation by potential impersonators,” says Jesse Salinas, Yolo County Assessor/Clerk-Recorder/Registrar of Voters.
Yolo County ACE is committed to battling misinformation and disinformation – and encourage the public to contact us directly for the most accurate information. “In a continued effort to provide safe and secure services and information, we are pleased to be making this change,” says Salinas. “We hope Yolo County will enjoy the added security, trust and accessibility that our new website and domain will bring.”
